Spontaneous Trip

For some reason, I've been missing Raleigh like crazayyyy.  Which is odd to me because when I lived there, I wasn't a huge fan and didn't think I would ever want to go back.

I honestly don't know if it's actually Raleigh specifically that I miss.  I think it's more the fact that I went from always having something to do, and being able to find someone to hang out with at all times to living in a house with a brother and dad who go to bed at 8 and 9:30 and a town where everything closes at 9.  My tiny little town is definitely not a happening place, and I'm so thankful that I went away to school where I could have a different experience.

So, spontaneously on my drive to work this morning I decided to go to Raleigh next weekend.  There are three home baseball games (my student ID is valid till next year, lucky me!).  My BFF isn't on duty.  Everyone else will be there since it's the weekend after Easter and they all just went home.  Seems pretty perfect to me.

The only thing that makes me nervous is my driving anxiety, but I'm feeling pretty good these days.  I'll make sure to take some headache medicine and any other medicine I can ever think of needing, and it will be a nice weekend to enjoy some Wolfpack baseball, and my best friends.

Don't Give Up, Don't Ever Give Up!

Jim Valvano is one of the greatest men in the history of NC State. This ESPY speech is watched over and over again throughout campus even today. I watched it in one of my business classes, and many more times since then. It NEVER gets old.

ESPN did a 30 for 30 special on the 1983 NC State Basketball team winning the NCAA championship under the leadership of Jim Valvano.  It was life changing.  You want to see a school that values their history?  Look at NC State.  You want to see a team of players who love what they do?  Look at NC State.  And you want to see the most dedicated group of fans in the whole wide world?  That's definitely NC State.  We back the pack whether they win or lose.

I love the school I went to.  I love the enthusiasm of the fans.  I love the history that surrounds you when you walk through campus.  I love the NC State WOLFPACK!

And, in the words of Jim Valvano, "Don't give up, don't EVER give up!"
